by Adam Brobst

September 25, 2008

The library has 8 stand alone computers and 29 laptops for student use.  Teachers may send students with a pass or sign up their class to use the computers.

Laptops may be checked out for home use overnight by filling out a check sheet.  Laptops need to be returned when students arrive at promptly the next morning.

Part 1 Responsible Use

No email

No games

No chatrooms, instant messenger, or posting to bulletin boards

No changing screen settings

No downloading of software or music files etc.

Violation of these rules or any on Acceptable Use Policy may result in loss of computer privileges

Part 2 Helpful Hints

Save often: Save every few minutes or after each paragraph.  Library computers are on all day are used heavily, save your work often (to your network folder) to avoid lost work from a frozen computer.

Again: Save on your network folder, not the desktop, as the next user may erase your work.  If you save on your network folder, you will always be able to find your work and from any computer.
